where for art thou spring...

it's officially spring here in australia...the 2nd day in fact and it has been so disappointing because it is cold, wet and miserable and this winter has hung on for far too long.

But..................

i have been designing a bunch of new goodies and the latest geekgirl designs are now live and on sale (30%) off over at Scrap Girls. new designs always make me feel warm and fuzzy inside as i have such a strong and supportive customer base.

what's new over in my store?

all this and all you need to do is click on each image to take you directly to the goodies.
please note that the Tattered Blooms Alpha does not sell separately and the image is just here so you get to see it a little better then on the main collections marketing file.

btw...i have a little competition going for the next couple of days. if you want in, it's super simple

geekgirl designs has a fan and follower group on facebook and i would like you all to join. Freebies, comps, give aways, up to date info...all that stuff that comes with being a fan/follower.

here's how it works. stop by my fans/followers fb group and join. then invite one friend to join. once you have both joined, pop your tags in the comment section under the competition post so i know who you are and can easily access names to go in to the draw.

new goodies and my latest campaign...

Hey hey hey lovely people out there and those of you who have stopped by to check up on things. Life has been busy in a creative non chaotic way and look at all those gorgeous goodies now in store. I have been busy.

Firstly there is a need on our family and it has taken all my courage to ask for help, help from friends, family and the community big or small.

My son lance, his partner Tiahana and their gorgeous 6 month old daughter are carless. They have gone through 2 cars in the past 6 months. The first car was written off from the result of a car accident and thankful no one was injured in that but the car. So the family all helped out to purchase a car that had all the paperwork done in regards to the fact it passed a roadworthy, had a few new bits fixed on it etc etc and a little registration left. So we all helped out so they could be independant once more and back on the road without having to rely on anyone else.

That car has now gone through 3 engines, other parts and lasted a whole 55k's on the clock before it broke down for good. First up not only were we so upset that the guy that sold it to us did so on the sly...in other words the roadworthy was false and everything that was meant to be fixed on it as part of the roadworthy was a lie.

So once more they rely on family to get them to all the normal places folk need to go....grocery shopping, doctors, maternal health nurse etc etc....you get my gist.

We have exhausted our resources and I have set up a gofundme campaign with the hope that we can reach a $6000 target and buy a reliable and stable car that will help them get back on the road and give them back the independence they need.

If you, your family, your friends, co-workers or place of employment can help in any small way, our family would be ever so grateful and thankful for it.

To donate please go here and from me to you, thank you with all my heart xxx

Next up there are brand new goodies in store over at Scrap Girls and they are all Commercial Use products.

You can find them all here at Scrap Girls. So I've kinda been a tad busy. And then come this Friday there's a few more to add to the collection and help grow your digi stash :)

okay next up is something near and dear to my heart and although I had difficulty emotionally do start a fund up, it's kinda been the last resort.

just a tad busy...

what can i say, life is busy and although i seem to do alot, there just aint that many hours in a typical day to do it all. i've caught up for the time being...well that is until tomorrow...lol

since becoming a Scrap Girl Designer, i have created exclusive kits that for the most part you won't find in any of my other stores and if you find something a tad similar it will have been added to for Scrap Girls.

and i have loved every minute of it!

except the fact that i've been quite sick for just over a week now where i could barely function. but like all good things time has helped and although i am not 100% better, i am clearer in my thoughts and able to function.

oh btw...i have a new freebie coming out with this weeks newsletter. yes!!!!!
finally i managed to create a gorgeous little freebie that i know you will all love and i may create something else to go with it for you all.

you don't really want to miss out on this gorgeous gift from me so if you've come by my blog and read down this far and perhaps you like to create online or digi scrap etc...sign up for my newsletter and you'll get this when i send it out with the next newsletter at the end of the week.

it really is as simple as that.

well guys it's late here, in fact it's the next day kinda late here so i'm shutting down and heading to bed.

until next time...look for all the positive in your life despite where you are mentally. you may have to work at it but it's there...yep...all that good and happy stuff, all that positive and loving goodness...it's there, i promise you!

I'm a Scrap Girl Designer...

Woohoo, it's now official and I am so happy to announce that geekgirl designs is now designing for Scrap Girls. I am so grateful and thankful to Angie (owner of Scrap Girls) for asking me to apply and then accepting my creative designs.

It is one thing to be a designer, it is another to be a designer to one of the top 10 digital sites there are. Scrap Girls was one of the first digital scrapbooking stores to open in 2004 when Rozanne Paxman first opened it's doors. I had been a huge fan way back then even in my digital scrapbooking infancy.

Everything even back then was professional and friendly. Scrap Girls has grown in leaps and bounds and although Rozanne is no longer at the helm, SG is a happy friendly and very professional digital scrapbooking website.

Angie Briggs is now the proud new owner with an outstanding team that I can now say I am not only part of but very proud to be one of the design girls.

geekgirl designs is also growing in all things digital and busy creating some of the most gorgeous kits you'll set your eyes on.

When I started out in digital scrapbooking around 2005, I discovered an art form that I fell in love with straight away. I was already a huge fan on the scrapbooking side of things and worked in the community helping others create, but digital designing allowed me to bring my love of creating and computers together in perfect harmony.

Back in those days I was a designer for Pickleberry Pop under my own name Chris Turnbull...

My how things have changed and evolved for me. geekgirl designs happened by pure chance...my computer and I are one and I love to keep my hands and mind busy with design.

I'm here and kinda the gal in the middle of all those faces...the best of the best and an incredibly talented team.

Head on over as there's a sale on all my goodies and although there is only a handful at the moment, over the next few weeks my store will fill up with new designs exclusive to Scrap Girls.

I'm excited...

And here I am...

design consultant...

today i started my new job as Design Consultant for Blockout Blinds. this is going to be a very exciting journey, one full of challenges and all in a good way.

so i survived my first day...not that it was hard by any means as it gives out such a positive vibe and everyone on board has a great positive attitude towards their job and towards Blockout Blinds.

i believe the more we can learn and the more we immerse ourselves in our jobs, family life and hobbies, the more we absorb and the more we can be and do.

you need that great work/life balance to achieve greater things in life and if you're not happy...do something about it!

life is where you allow it to take you and if you don't like jumping out of your comfort zone every now and then, how can you take the risks needed to succeed?!

many years ago i learnt what going the extra mile was all about in my early teens i started using this approach quite naturally as it seems to be part of my genetic makeup and have lived by it every single day of my since. being a people person, gravitating to those less fortunate, supporting those that need it...whether they put there hand up or hand out, always wanting to give back to my community whether it's online or on the street.

life for me is important, it happens quickly and it faces challenges often. life is short and it does not discriminate but in one life time you can achieve a lot and so much more.

so on to my next topic...designing!

first up if you didn't get geekgirl designs latest newsletter then you.are.missing.out
there are always freebies attached to my newsletters. sooooo if you haven't signed up then you should.

link here

and for those that have, i hope you've enjoyed the freebies

next on the blog list is my latest Commercial Use products and Paper Weights and Pistachio Pink. just click each image and it will redirect you to it's place in MyMemories Store

oh and you're not seeing things...to make my life a little easier as i sell in several shops, placement of logo and name is now on the bottom of each preview

well that's about it ladies and gents so subscribe to the newsletter and enjoy. BTW when subscribing you'll receive an email with a freebie link just for subscribing. have fun!
