lots of new goodies this week and a fan page...

hey hey hey lovely people, i hope everyone is happy. i have some new goodies now available over in my store at scrap girls.

i'm working on more and more Commercial Use products so that other designers are able to create personal collections and kits with geekgirl designs. i have quite a small collection happening now.

what's new?

all the below and that's just for this week...

you can find all of them here at Scrap Girls and they are all on sale for the next 24 hrs which means you can head on over and fill up your digi stash some more.

and there's a whole lot more next week which includes a gorgeous collection called Tattered Blooms (PU) and Rustic Doors and Windows, Leaves and Flowers (CU).

i also have a fan and followers page over on facebook, i noticed a lot of folk either commenting or checking on and thought a fan page would allow folks who enjoy my designs to enjoy them even more.

so here it is...facebook fan page

pop on over and join, you'll also receive freebies from time to time too

well that's all folks, enjoy your weekend and stay safe :)

design consultant...

today i started my new job as Design Consultant for Blockout Blinds. this is going to be a very exciting journey, one full of challenges and all in a good way.

so i survived my first day...not that it was hard by any means as it gives out such a positive vibe and everyone on board has a great positive attitude towards their job and towards Blockout Blinds.

i believe the more we can learn and the more we immerse ourselves in our jobs, family life and hobbies, the more we absorb and the more we can be and do.

you need that great work/life balance to achieve greater things in life and if you're not happy...do something about it!

life is where you allow it to take you and if you don't like jumping out of your comfort zone every now and then, how can you take the risks needed to succeed?!

many years ago i learnt what going the extra mile was all about in my early teens i started using this approach quite naturally as it seems to be part of my genetic makeup and have lived by it every single day of my since. being a people person, gravitating to those less fortunate, supporting those that need it...whether they put there hand up or hand out, always wanting to give back to my community whether it's online or on the street.

life for me is important, it happens quickly and it faces challenges often. life is short and it does not discriminate but in one life time you can achieve a lot and so much more.

so on to my next topic...designing!

first up if you didn't get geekgirl designs latest newsletter then you.are.missing.out
there are always freebies attached to my newsletters. sooooo if you haven't signed up then you should.

link here

and for those that have, i hope you've enjoyed the freebies

next on the blog list is my latest Commercial Use products and Paper Weights and Pistachio Pink. just click each image and it will redirect you to it's place in MyMemories Store

oh and you're not seeing things...to make my life a little easier as i sell in several shops, placement of logo and name is now on the bottom of each preview

well that's about it ladies and gents so subscribe to the newsletter and enjoy. BTW when subscribing you'll receive an email with a freebie link just for subscribing. have fun!

ever creating...

so i've been flat out with life and trying to create between the soft moments and the harsher ones. geekgirl designs have been accepted into an online digital scrapbooking store which is exciting (shall mention where in next post) and have applied to a couple more as someone has referred me to the sites. so exciting times are happening.

in amongst all that my beautiful grand bubba is growing up so quickly and i will start to edit her newborn images this week and then i can't wait to show her off to you all. aria is 5 weeks old and just starting to get out of that new born look ♥

in the meantime i've also been designing and creating and it feels good to be me, to be back to what i love doing and even better...to be a better person because of it....weird huh??! nope, but if you knew my story over the last few years you would then understand where i'm coming from.

change is inevitable, whether we like it or not, we must learn to work through it and be a better person because of it!

anyway...my latest designs are ready to burst forth onto this blog post so here they are...but i'll add the links to my store tomorrow as it's pretty late here tonight and i'm up in a 6 hours for another full day

keep smiling :)

no excuses...

wow, i thought i had updated a little sooner than later. ooops! anyway what's happening round the traps? hmmmmm..................

okay so i've created a few more goodies, i'm about to open an eCommerce digital download shop, i've been flat out busy and i have loved spending time with my kids and my new grand bubba and of course taking photo's.

so first thing is too upload my new kits and here they are. cherry blossom journal cards and paper pack.

and of course my recycled paper pack with journal cards to follow cause i haven't created them yet...lol

and i absolute love designing and i am hoping that my designs take off and i can keep my customers happy with what i come up with.

i'm going to trial sellfy and at this stage it is so simple and easy to set up a digital download store there...sooooo we will see how we go over the next 3 months or so....but i am extremely excited about it all.

i will also be offering freebies and i will be having a creative team call soon as well. so there's a whole lot of goodness happening and i want you all too be a huge part of that as well.

anyway i have some grand bubba photo's too edit after our photo shoot today and of course i'll be sharing...stay tuned dudes and dudettes

keep smiling,

creativity...

i've been wanting to get back into digital designing for quite a while, i was a designer for pickleberry pop back in the early days and have missed it a lot. like so many other hobbies i've taken up over the years, there are a few i'm getting back in to.

both digital and paper scrapping has started, a little mixed art media, digital designing and knitting. as much as i would love to get back into sewing...i no longer have my machines (overlocker and sewing machine), so i won't be going far with that even though i would love to make the most adorable outfits for my grand baby Aria.

in my spare time...lol, you know between running a taxi service for others and housework and hunting for a job, i've designed some gorgeous baby journal card sets as a digital download and available to print as well.

i absolutely love them and can't wait till i can pop them in a digi scrapping store and start selling.

apologies for those that have missed out as my papers and cards are no longer available for free :)

Keep smiling,

Christine :)

story telling...

i've always been a story teller, right from being that quiet and shy kid with freckles, to being that introverted teenager and then growing up and having to adult.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a tad geeky either!

story telling first came to me in books...many many books over the years. if the back of the book with it's description of what's inside each page doesn't turn you on...then throw the book away cause it won't be a book that tells you a story. well that's my motto and i stand by it.

i have always loved to read. i'm the kinda gal that once my head is in a good book, then that's it...nothing else gets done until the book has been read and my mind and heart has absorbed all the great bits and all the great story telling drama's...as epic as they may be or as mind blowing and numbing as the book weaves it's tale and wraps it around and tugs at your heart strings.

growing up as i did, not in a privileged way and a trouble kid...reading became my sanity, my hope, my internal peace and my great escape! it is where i hid myself deep in every page of every great book with every great story spoken, fact or fiction, i didn't care. i was hopelessly lost in reality but wonderfully lost with every word of every page of every book.

with every book i could be one character or i could be all and i loved the fact that i could bury myself within every word soaking up every single character.

so story telling for me either through my scrapbooking both digital or paper, hybrid or mixed media arts, blogging and photography is incredibly important to me. and i have missed every part of all those good and wholesome things tremendously. so 2017 is my year of getting back into all those things i love creatively. and i can't wait to show my creative flare off to all those that know me, have come to know me and cross paths one way or another.

please follow me on my journey and i promise you won't be disappointed!

and so it begins...

my blogging journey has started and i'm excited about all the things blog worthy for 2017. nothing says settled more then keeping up with digital scrapbooking and blogging about life and love and anything else the world decides to throw at me.

i'm also excited about my photography...where it takes me this time, i don't know but i'm happy to give it a whirl.

in the mean time...watch this space and by all means leave happy warm comments and follow me while i walk this journey.

oh and did i mention that i'm about to become a grandma...little old me and in just a few weeks. i can't wait. i'm organising the maternity shoot as i type this and putting together ideas for when bubs is born to take oodles of pics and put together some gorgeous albums and scrapbooking pages both paper and digital.

life is good...

tomorrow i head into another job interview, this one is huge and it's taken months to get to this point with the company. each stage has got me through to the next one and then the next and so on and so forth.

wish me luck!

i'll leave you with another digital layout, keeping it real...

welcome...

hi folk and welcome to my blog. many of you who pass by will know me and many of you won't.
i have missed so much of the true me that over the past few days i've decided it was time to rediscover what i love...family, blogging, scrapbooking (paper and digital), photography, art, mixed media, a little of that geekiness that's always been an interest and of course life.

about the person behind the blog:
my name is christine turnbull although i am also known as christine parsell (maiden name) and chris turnbull. i have 4 young gorgeous adult children, am divorced and have rather unique, quirky, versatile and eclectic skills.

here you will read personal stories, this is where i'll share my love of geeky things, my art and life itself. photo's, treasures, art, love, good days and bad, great days and ones that suck. just a typical girl in an ordinary world.

i look forward to sharing so much with you, make new found friends, keep up with old friends, and live life to it's fullest. so...come with me while we walk the many paths that are part of my journey!
